In Granite City, Illinois, you will find a backyard like no other - Brian Willis has bears, hound dogs, raccoons and even a giant rooster standing about, all carved from wood with a chainsaw. Brian started carving duck and goose decoys in 1988 and became hooked. Brian Willis Spending countless hours carving, he developed his own style and has taken it to a new level - using a chainsaw. Various wildlife organizations including Ducks Unlimited have benefited from his carving abilities.

Brian has been using a chainsaw since 2004 and is able to incorporate the past techniques and knowledge into beautiful large detailed sculptures. Most of his present carvings are 85% chainsaw, but he is not afraid to bring out the "old school tools" to achieve the look he wants.

Brian and his wife Tracy share a home with 2 dogs and a cat and have a daughter named Rachael. Recently Brian has taught Tracy to carve and together they share the passion of wood carving. Tracy has proven to be a very capable carver herself carving mainly roses and birds. She is extremely proud of her husbands' abilities.

Brian can been seen carving at fairs, festivals and special events throughout the central and southern Illinois area.
